Shem Burns

Shem graduated in 2010 as an Occupational Therapist. Over the last 14 years he has gained extensive experience working in public and private sectors in Australia and the UK. His passion is the upper limb. Since 2017 he has focused soley on the treatment of hand and upper limb injuries.

Shem opened his own practice, Active Hand Therapy, to ensure high standards of patient care are being met. 

He is an Accredited Hand Therapist as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA). 

Shem works with a variety of services including NDIS, Lifetime Care & Support, Workers Compensation, and Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) to name a few. He has great relationships with local Specialist surgeons and is always happy to point patients in the right direction when surgery is required.

He grew up on the South Coast and loves our lifestyle. When Shem is not at work, he is spending time with his wife and young family or out in the surf. Be sure to mention what the weather and surf are like when you see him...he loves that.
